Fastest qualifer Audi Murphi will face a full field in Sunday’s 350-yard, $173,700 Gillespie County Fair Futurity at Fredericksburg.

FREDERICKSBURG, TX—AUGUST 26, 2017—Fastest qualifier Audi Murphi drew post 2 for Sunday’s 350-yard, $173,700 Gillespie County Fair Futurity at Fredericksburg, Texas.

Trained by Josue Ponce for owners Bobby D. Cox and Kristen Paredes, Audi Murphi broke his maiden with a 1 1/2-length victory in the second of 11 trials on August 13. The homebred Valiant Hero colt is out of the multiple graded stakes winning Mr Jess Perry mare Jess A Lil Bit More, and he has earned $5,645 from four outs.

Jose A. Alvarez will ride Audi Murphi on Sunday. The colt’s nine opponents include Holly Hooper’s Tacky Lil Groundhog, a graded stakes placed daughter of Tac It Like A Man trained by Angel Sanchez. Tacky Lil Groundhog has banked $24,278 from four races, and her resume includes a second-place finish, a neck behind winner Dashin Red Cat, in the 350-yard, $96,000 TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity (RG3) at Retama Park on July 1.
