GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 27, 2017—Eagle Cry, a gelded son of champion One Famous Eagle racing for Irma Z. Vargas and Giovanni Vargas, is the 5-2 morning-line favorite for Saturday’s 440-yard, $150,000 Dash For Cash Derby (G3) at Lone Star Park.

Trained by Rolando Almanza, Eagle Cry set the fastest qualifying time when he won the fifth of seven trials by two lengths in :21.693 on September 15. The gelding drew post 6 and will be ridden by Jesse Lee Levario.

Double A Ranch Inc.’s Paint My Pilot drew post 5 and will be ridden by Yordanis Amaro for trainer Jorge L. Gonzalez. A colt by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, Paint My Pilot has banked $234,008 from nine outs, and his resume includes a second-place finish, a neck behind winner A Revenant, in last year’s 400-yard, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.
