SANDY, ID—JULY 4, 2019—Luis Gonzalez owned-and-trained Heswatchingoveryou has been installed at the 5-2 morning-line favorite for the $91,256 Bitterroot Futurity today at Sandy Downs.
The 350 yard futurity will head at stakes Triple-Header at the Idaho track today including the $50,677 Bank of America Sandy Downs Championship Challenge (see related story) and the $16,950 Bitterroot Derby,
Heswatchingoveryou, a son of last year's leading first-crop sire Five Bar Cartel, shipped in from Arizona to capture the fastest qualifying time after posting an impressive 1-¾ length win in the June 21 trials. It was the first win for the sorrel colt who was sixth in the John Deere Turf Paradise Juvenile in April.
Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches, LP bred Heswatchingoveryou in Texas from the Special Effort mare A Watchful Eye. He will start from post 9 under jockey Oscar Cervantes.
Hanson Racing LLC, Robin and Kevin Dunn's Thrill Of The Cartel(7-2) enters the race off the second fastest trial time June 21st where the gelding by leading sire Favorite Cartel showed late speed to win by one-length.
It was the second win in three starts for the Mark Hanson trained Texas-bred. Also bred by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches, LP, Thrill Of The Cartel is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare License To Thrill. Jesus Canales will be riding call from post 8.

Conditioned by trainer Mark Hanson, the three-time stakes winner won the Bitterroot Futurity last year and banked more than $85,493. RTM Stables LLC and Robin Dunn own the son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon from the First Down Dash mare First Tea Rose. Bob and Jerry Gaston bred the brown gelding in Texas.
