AURORA, CO—AUGUST 2, 2020—Margarito Montalvo’s Legends On Fire, a homebred son of the Corona Cartel stallion The Noble Legend and the fastest qualifier, drew the rail post for Wednesday’s 330-yard, $62,175 Cherry Creek Futurity (R) for Colorado-bred 2-year-olds at Arapahoe Park.

A bay gelding trained by Uriel Delgado, Legends On Fire has won two of three starts, including the second of four Cherry Creek Futurity trials on July 19. Legends On Fire will be ridden by Jose Meza.

The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments:

Also on Wednesday, 11 Colorado-bred sophomores are entered in the 350-yard, $52,570 Lucille Rowe Derby (R).

De Capitator Bar, a stakes-winning Capo de Capi colt owned and trained by Mark Schultz, drew post 7 and will be ridden by Pedro V. Gonzalez. A finalist in the July 1, 350-yard Rocky Mountain Derby, De Capitator Bar has earned $47,523 from seven races, and his two wins include a head victory in last year’s Cherry Creek Futurity (R).
