BY MICHAEL CUSORTELLI
SHAKOPEE, MN–JUNE 5, 2023–Summer Run Inc.'s Beep Beep Rev Rev, a homebred daughter of champion A Revenant trained by Jason Olmstead, is the 4-5 morning-line favorite for Wednesday's 400-yard, $20,000 North Star State Derby (R) for Minnesota-bred sophomores at Canterbury Park.
Beep Beep Rev Rev returns to Canterbury Park off of a Remington Park spring meet during which he scored a one-length victory in a 250-yard, $29,000 open-condition allowance dash on April 16. The gelding has won six of 10 races and has earned $106,898, and his three wins in four outs at Canterbury include last year's North Star State (R) and Minnesota (R) futurities.
Beep Beep Rev Rev drew post 3 and will be ridden by Edwin Escobedo.
Also on Wednesday, nine state-bred juveniles are entered in the 300-yard, $20,000 North Star State Futurity (R).
Relentless Minnie, the 2-1 morning-line choice, is a gelded son of Hes Relentless trained by Jason Olmstead for owner Summer Run Inc. A $25,000 purchase at last year's Heritage Place Yearlilng Sale in Oklahoma City, the gelding made his debut with a second-place finish in a 330-yard, $19,000 maiden-special-weight dash at Remington Park.
Relentless Minnie drew post 7 and will be ridden by Edwin Escobedo.
