OPELOUSAS, LA–SEPTEMBER 28, 2023–Eight sprinters, headed by early favorite San Lorenzo Dash, are entered in Saturday's 220-yard, $20,000 Evangeline Downs Dash.

A homebred 4-year-old daughter of Heza Fast Dash racing for Rogelio Marquez Jr., San Lorenzo Dash is one of three distaffers entered in the race, the first stakes of the season at Evangeline Downs. The sorrel mare is coming off of a Delta Downs summer meet during which she won three stakes, including the 400-yard, $60,000 Vals Fortune Stakes (R) on June 21.

San Lorenzo Dash drew post 8 and will be ridden by Ubaldo Luna for trainer Jesus M. Marquez.

Trainer Justin Powell will send out El Camino CL, a 5-year-old Heza Fast Dash stallion racing for McGehee Horse & Cattle LLC. El Camino CL has won his last two starts at Delta Downs, including a 330-yard, $20,000 allowance sprint on August 30.

El Camino CL drew post 7 and will be ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez.
