Saturday's card will feature four stakes restricted to state-bred Quarter Horses. The 400-yard, $60,000 Terrace Hill Stakes (R) has drawn eight aged runners, led by early favorite TS Perry Kool. A gelded son of Lil Kool Wagon trained by Tony Jones for owner Casey Veach, TS Perry Kool has earned $28,745 from five starts during the Prairie Meadows meet, and he scored an upset victory at odds of 12-1 in the 350-yard, $25,000 Cy-Hawk Stakes (R) on August 5.
TS Perry Kool drew post 8 and will be ridden by Stormy Smith.
Ten Iowa-bred 3-year-olds are entered back in Saturday's 400-yard, $97,360 Polk County Derby (R).
Ruben Mojica's EC Wagon, a stakes winner during the current Prairie Meadows meet, drew post 9 and will be ridden by Alfredo Triana for trainer Manuel Mojica Campos. Famous Jeanscarnitas will seek her first stakes win against older runners in Saturday's 400-yard, $60,000 Future of Iowa Stakes (R) for state-bred fillies and mares.
A homebred 3-year-old daughter of the One Famous Eagle stallion Fast N Famous Jeans, Famous Jeanscarnitas is trained by Manuel Mojica Campos for owner Brijido Guajardo Vega.
