New Remington Park COVID-19 Protocols - UPDATE

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 8, 2020—Attention Horsemen - In addition to the protocols previously put into place by Remington Park regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the following procedures will go into effect immediately.

  • UPDATE April 8, 2020 - The new mask protocol will be in effect with all racing operations. You will be required to have a mask (nose and mouth covered) when on the front side AND when entering the racing office, track kitchen, test barn, tattooer and hair testing barn. The mask is not just for your own safety but the safety of those around you as well. It is important that we do all we can to stop this virus and not let it stop racing! There will be a shipment of masks arriving tomorrow and will be available in the racing office and at the saddling paddock, however supplies will be limited. Homemade masks, t-shirts, bandannas, etc. will be adequate. Thank you for your cooperation. Please continue to wash your hands and practice social distancing at every opportunity.

  • Only one groom, one individual to saddle (trainer) and a jockey will be allowed in the paddock. If you need additional help with a horse, you must get approval from the paddock judge. Not more than two people can walk over with a horse. Only one owner will be allowed on the front side and only during the race their horse is in. One owner means one individual, not a couple. OHRC Badge must be on your person. Only persons with a current OHRC licenses are allowed access to the front side.

  • As horses exit the paddock, please exercise social distancing, take some time and let others go and do not group up to walk down the tunnel.

Individuals that do not obey these rules will be taken to the Stewards and/or ejected from the property.

Please take this seriously, the survival of our industry in Oklahoma is at stake and Remington Park , the OQHRA and the OHRC take your and our own lives and livelihoods very seriously. Do your part.

Stay Healthy!
