Remington Park Kicks Off Training Races Wednesday and Thursday

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK--FEBRUARY 4, 2018--Remington Park will kick off their 2018 training race schedule for 2-year-olds this week with six training races carded on both Wednesday and Thursday. First post for both training race day will be 11 am (CST).

A number of summer sale yearling graduates will get their first test this week.

Wednesday
In Wednesday 's first race a full brother to leading sires Pyc Paint Your Wagon and Ivory James will make his debut for owner Caesar Nunez. Julio Corral conditions the $75,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate by leading sire Corona Cartel from the Strawfly Special mare Dashin Follies.

Trainer Julio Corral will also saddle $22,000 Heritage Place Yearling graduate Secret Gems for owner Martin Olmedo in Race 3. The colt, by last year's leading first-crop sire Hez Our Secret, is out of the multiple stakes producing Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Pearl, a sister to Heritage Place Futurity(G1) First Carolina and Remington Park Futurity(G1) winners First Prize Leesa and First Prize Robin.

In Race 6 on Wednesday leading trainer Eddie D. Willis saddle $45,000 TQHA Sale graduate Mrs Perfect for owners Abel Flores and Jorge Haddad. The daughter of Mr Jess Perry is out of a sister to two-time AQHA Racing Champion and World Champion sire FDD Dynasty.

Julio Corral will saddle $13,000 Heritage Place Yearling graduate Long Wagon Ho for himself. The Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt is out of the G3-placed Strawfly Special mare The Long Straw and he is a brother to Grade 2 Kindergarten Futurity runner-up The Cartel Straw.

Another 2-year-olds to watch on Wednesday's program include Erin Chrisman's Rosiest, a Separatist colt of the multiple graded stakes winner Black Rosalita by Sweet First Down. Trainer Luz Chavira will train.

Thursday
On Thursday another Hez Our Secret colt out of First Prize Pearl will make his debut in Race 4 for owner Bollenbach Farms and trained Eddie D. Willis. Silver Prize was a $31,000 Heritage Place Sale graduate.

Also, in the 4th, Manuel Francisco Mata will saddle Five Puig Racing's Dominyun filly Geaux N Places. The $12,000 Ruidoso Sale graduate is out of the Grade-1 placed Corona Cartel mare All N The Jeans.

Trainer Luis Villa Franco will saddle $15,000 Heritage September yearling Ms Perry Cartel in Race 6 for owner Fernando Ayala. The daughter of leading sire Corona Cartel is from the stakes-placed grade 1 finalist Mr Perrys Wine by Mr Jess Perry. This is the family of champion fillies Alice K White and Astica.

Apollitical Times, a $9,500 TQHA Sale repurchase, will also race in the 6th for owner Aquila Negra Racing LLC. Manuel Francisco Mata conditions the daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess from the Grade 1-placed Tres Seis mare Three Time The Toll. This is the family of Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity(G1) winner One Quick First Down.

Another 2-year-olds of interest on Thursday is Dash Kam, a brother to Remington Park Futurity winner Im A Fancy Pyc and Speedhorse Futurity winner Fast N Fancy. Trainer Dustin Cox will saddle the son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon for owner Julio Gonzales. He is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Fancy, a sister to the aforementioned First Prize Pearl.
