Mr Dillard Set 2-1 As Morning Line Favorite In Black Gold 440 Championship Futurity

CLAREMORE, OK—NOVEMBER 6, 2019—Second fastest qualifier Mr Dillard has been set as the 2-1 morning line favorite in Saturday's $252,876 Black Gold 440 Championship Futurity at Will Rogers Downs.

The 440 yard event for 2-year-olds by participating stallions, who qualified from the five trials contested October 25th, is carded as Race 11. Estimated post-time is 4:10 p.m. (CST).

A stakes winning Oklahoma-bred son of leading first-crop sire Hes Relentless, Mr Dillard enters the race with a perfect 3-for-3 record that includes wining the $252,876 Black Gold 350 Championship Futurity at Will Rogers Downs in September.

Longtime trainer Sam Howard conditions the homebred gelding, out of Quions by Spit Curl Jess, for owner-breeder L Hendrix Horses LLC. Cody Smith is named aboard Mr Dillard who posted an impressive 1-¼ length trial victory, earning a 108 speed index while setting the second fastest time. The sorrel gelding has earned $106,664.

Eddie D. Willis' trained Love Is Everything V (3-1) will race off the inside rail under jockey Jimmy Dean Brooks. James Sills owns the Grade 1 qualifying son of first-crop sire One Valiant Hero. Sixth in Rainbow Futurity(G1) at Ruidoso Downs in July, the gelding has compiled an (8) 3-2-1 record and banked $75,836. He is out of the One Famous Eagle mare Echoes Of Love.

Fastest qualifier, the lightly raced Jess My Hocks, has been set as the third 7-2 choice in the morning line. Also by a first-crop sire, champion Kiss My Hocks, the sorrel gelding won his trial by neck while posting the top time of :21.545 seconds, a 108 speed index.

Michelle Hurdle conditions the Oklahoma homebred for owner-breeders Tom and Kathleen McNally. Out of the Take Off Jess mare Jess Charlena, Jess My Hocks has earned $11,719 and won two of three starts.
