RUIDOSO HORSE SALE—AUGUST 29, 2020—The Ruidoso Select "Foals-In-Utero" and session one of the "R.D. Hubbard Complete Dispersal" were part of the Ruidoso Horse Sale's second day of the three-day event currently underway August 27 thru 29 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

R.D. Hubbard Complete Dispersal-Session One

Jimmy Dick paid $80,000 for the Hubbard session one sale-topper, Hip #380 Jess A Painted Wagon, a Grade 1-placed daughter of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon. The 6-year-old mare was third in the 2016 Rainbow Futurity(G1) and has earned $128,190. She sold in-foal to leading sire One Famous Eagle.

All 20 head in the opening session were sold for $618,00, a $30,900 average and $29,500 median. Dick was the leading buyer with four purchases for $223,000.

Saturday's sale kicks off promptly at noon (CDT) with the second session of "Select Yearlings", Hips 388 thru 610, followed by the closing session of the R.D. Hubbard Complete Dispersal, Hips 611 thru 615.

Ruidoso Select Foals-In-Utero

A foal-in-utero by leading sire Apollitical Jess, from the AQHA Racing Champion Aged Mare Mongoose Jet Eye, topped the 2020 Ruidoso Select Foals-In-Utero session. MRB Racing LLC paid $42,000 for the foal-in-utero due in January 2021. Dr. Rick Beck consigned the half-sibling to five blacktype.

Twelve of the 19 foals-in-utero consigned were marked sold for a $229,500 gross. They averaged $19,125, compared to $19,825 last yar and the median rose 17% to $16,250 over $13,500 in 2019.

West Texas Racing Partnership was the leading foal-in-utero buyer with three purchases for $103,000.
