BOISE, ID—JUNE 5,2013—Mascot Day kicks off an exciting week of live racing at Les Bois Park followed by the Third Leg of the Triple Crown The Belmont Stakes on Saturday June 8th.
Tonight's (Wednesday) post time is 5:30 pm (MDT)and the Mascots will crawl, race, or slither to the winners circle at approximately 7:15 pm. Saturday racing has an early afternoon post time at 2:00 pm and the Belmont Stakes will be shown on live TV’s throughout the park at approximately 4:30 pm followed by more live racing at Les Bois Park. The gates open at 12:30 pm on Saturday.
Hall of Fame trainer Jack Van Berg and commentator/author Chris Kotulak will be on hand to celebrate Belmont with a book signing of Jack’s autobiography “JACK, From Grit to Glory,” an American Horse Racing Legend.
“The life and remarkable accomplishments of Jack Van Berg is a testament to discipline, respect and commitment,” said Chris Kotulak. “Jack lived throughout a golden age of horse racing, trained champions, broke records and became a Hall of Fame trainer.”
Jack Van Berg will be signing books on both Wednesday evening and Saturday near the winners circle. Chris Kotulak will be joining Jack Van Berg on Saturday. Special Guest and recording artist Liza G. Fly will be performing live on track both days.
Les Bois Park is hosting a FREE handicapping seminar Saturday and Jack Van Berg and Chris Kotulak will be on hand for the “Professor’s Picks & Pans” at 11:00 am in the Turf Club Bar and Grill.
