Heritage Place September Yearling Sale Opens On High Note

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—SEPTEMBER 18, 2014—Heritage Place Sales Company kicked the first of three sessions for their 36th annual September Yearling Sale on Thursday with increases across the board.

"The first day average was up 13%, gross sales were up 20%, we sold 90% of yearlings offered," Spence Kidney, Heritage Place General Manager said Thursday evening. "The market was really solid today, I thought we had a great crowd as well," he added.

First numbers saw 244 yearlings marked sold for a $3,341,900 gross. The first session average ended at $13,696 with a very strong median of $9,700.

Billy G. Smith, Pat Guthrie and A. Groom paid $87,000 for Thursday's high seller Dynasty Queen, a filly by FDD Dynasty who is a half-sister to world champion Cold Cash 123. Marty Powers Agent consigned the bay sorrel filly for Carolyn C. Bay.

Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent for McColee Land & Livestock sold Corona Surfer for $80,000 to Bobby Simmons. The Corona Cartel colt is out a stakes winning full sister to world champion Wave Carver and champion Ocean Runaway.

The third high seller at $75,000 was Tempting Jolie, a Tempting Dash filly from the first crop of Apollitical Angel, a sister to world champion Apollitical Jess. Bella Vista Farms, LLC signed the ticket for the sorrel filly consigned by Southwest Stallion Station, Agent for Tyler Graham.

Rachuan Suarez MVZ was the first sessions leading buyer with 11 head totaling $149,600. Joe Rios had eight for $149,200 and Ramon R. Vega purchased six for $112,500.

Bobby D. Cox was the leading consignor in the opening session selling seven yearlings for $182,500. Southwest Stallion Station, Agent for Tyler Graham had two for $103,00 and 6666 Ranch, Agent sold six head for $101,000.

Corona Cartel led all sires (by average with two or more sold) with two head that averaged $71,500. Tempting Dash had three for $46,667 and FDD Dynasty sold three yearlings that averaged $43,167.
