Ruidoso High Seller Wins Dash For Cash Juvenile

Grand Prairie, TX--Valliant Hero, the 2005 High-Selling Yearling at the Ruidoso Select Quarter Horse Yearling Sale, picked up his first stakes win on Saturday night in the third running of the $43,735 Dash For Cash Juvenile at Lone Star Park.

The Dash For Cash Juvenile field included the second ten fastest qualifiers from the grade 1 Dash For Cash Futurity trials contested on October 14th.

Owned by H.& M. Brown, H. Hill and T. Bell, the brown son of First Down Dash pushed his career record to 3-1-1 from six starts. His two previous wins included 1-1/2 length victories in both the grade 1 All American Futurity trial and grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity trial last summer at Ruidoso Downs. He was the thirteenth fastest qualifier to the $1.9 million All American.

The Browns, Hill and Bell purchased Valiant Hero for $500,000 from the consignment of Julianna Hawn Holt. Bred by Holt, Valiant Hero is out of the three-time Champion mare Corona Chick. He is a full brother to Champion Corona Cash and stakes winner Corona Czech and a ¾ brother to leading sire Corona Cartel.

Jack Brooks trains the two-year-old ridden by Champion jockey G.R. Carter, Jr. who coverd the 400 yards in :19.785 seconds for a career high 101 speed index. The next probable start for Valiant Hero could be the grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity trials in late November.

Sixes Split Pea, a stakes-placed Mr Jess Perry colt, finished a neck off the winner. Juan Garaza saddled the sorrel that was ridden by Jeff Jerman. A Streakin La Jolla colt, His Allure, was ½ length back for third.

Got To Go, Eyes On The Form, Sixes On Time, Mister Ww, Jodys Swinger and Beaukas completed the order of finish.
