AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION—SEPTEMBER 14, 2016—The final full week of summer 2016 arrives with no major changes to the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com rankings for either the 2-year-old division or the 3-year-old and older horses. All American Futurity (G1) winner Imperial Eagle and All American Derby (G1) champ EC Jet One both rose to their respective top perches following Labor Day weekend scores and remained there for a second straight week. There were no new inclusions to either Top 10 in the latest rankings.

Imperial Eagle garnered a near-unanimous 109 of 110 possible points in the weekly balloting. The California-bred son of One Famous Eagle not only has the All American Futurity (G1) title on his resume this year, but also a runner-up placing in the West Texas Futurity (G2). The Tony Sedillo-trained gelding is 6-4-2-0-0 on the campaign and rides a four-race winning streak.

EC Jet One leads a tighter chase among the older horses, 104-98, over undefeated fellow 3-year-old colt Jess Good Candy. The stellar summer return of world champion Heza Dasha Fire two weeks ago at Los Alamitos appears to have made this a three-way race atop the division. EC Jet One, a Texas-bred son of The Louisiana Cartel, is a perfect 5-for-5 on the year for trainer Judd Kearl. EC Jet One won the Hialeah Derby and South Florida Derby this winter before taking six months off to gear up for the All American Derby.
