Knee Injury Sidelines Bh Lisas Boy

CYPRESS,CA—JULY 11, 2017—According to an article by Steven Andersen published today on The Daily Racing Form's website drf.com recent Vessels Maturity(G1) winner Bh Lisas Boy has been sidelined with a knee injury that may jeopardize his chances of racing in the $750,000 Grade 1 Champion of Champions at Los Alamitos December 16.

The son of Mighty Invictus won his fifth consecutive race, the Vessels Maturity, on July 2. The injury was detected a few days after the race and Bh Lisas Boy underwent surgery to have a bone chip removed last Friday.

Owner-breeder and trainer Bill Hoburg is hopeful the 5-year-old can return for the Champion of Champions.

"We’re looking at three months' rest and we’ll have 90 days to get ready for the Champion of Champions,” he said. “I think we have enough time to get him ready."

Bh Lisas Boy won the Los Alamitos Winter Championship(G1) in February and has won 15 of 25 races and earned $406,698. Bred in Idaho, he is out of the Snowbound(TB) mare Apollo Snowbound.
