RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JUNE 3, 2018—Ruidoso Downs will increase overnight purses 10-percent effective immediately and continuing through the end of the season, September 3rd.

The increase will also be retroactively paid to owners who won overnight races in the first two weeks of the meeting. Trials and stakes will not be affected.

"The increased purse money is a result of efforts from horsemen, racing fans, and casino players," said president and general manager Jeff True. "The opening weekend exceeded our expectations and our goal is carry that momentum through the summer. The purse boost should attract a couple more entries to each race which is important since field size is critical to our success."

Ruidoso continues live racing Friday through Sunday afternoons all summer long with a first post time of 1 p.m. Labor Day Monday will feature Grade 1, $3 million All American Futurity, quarter horse racing’s showcase event.
