Brazilian Superstar Edberg Verde To Make U.S. Debut On Sunday

LOS ALAMITOS, CA–APRIL 25, 2024–Mauro Eli Zaborowsky’s Brazilian superstar Edberg Verde will make his United States debut when he leads the $13,000 allowance feature at 300 yards on Sunday at Los Alamitos.

Sired by 2006 All American Futurity winner No Secrets Here, Edberg Verde is one of the most decorated Quarter Horses ever in Brazil.

He’s also the richest Quarter Horse of all time at the famous Jockey Club de Sorocaba in Brazil.

The Samba millionaire’s accolades include winning the GP Sao Paulo, the GP Megarace, and the GP ABQM Potro de Futuro. By winning the Megarace and the Potro do Futuro, Edberg Verde became only the fifth runner to win both races. Two of the five, Aladim Bryan SA and Nordick Only VM, both won stakes races at Los Alamitos. 

Edberg Verde will enter this race after posting a 350-yard gate work in :18.1 on March 9 at Los Alamitos.                                                

A future stallion in Brazil, Edberg Verde’s United States racing debut is surely one of the most anticipated Quarter Horse races in his country’s history. Victor Salazar will ride Edberg Verde from post number five.

A total of six older horses will be in action in this race, which is the ninth and final on the card. The mare BF Lizzierageous the richest of them all with over $60,000 in earnings. The eighth is also an allowance event for 3-year-olds. Four stakes qualifiers are among the runners in this race.
