OPELOUSAS, LA—OCTOBER 24, 2014—Eric P. Johnson’s Fast Talkin Henry is one of eight Louisiana-bred sprinters entered in Saturday’s $35,000 Amelia Belle Stakes (R) at Evangeline Downs.
A 4-year-old Heza Fast Dash gelding trained by Heath Taylor, Fast Talkin Henry boasts a three-race win streak that includes victories in the 400-yard, $100,000 Louisiana Classic Stakes (RG2) at Delta Downs on July 12, and the 400-yard, $60,000 Mid-City Stakes (R) at Fair Grounds Racecourse on September 7.
John Hamilton will ride Fast Talkin Henry from post 5 in the Amelia Belle. The gelding’s seven opponents include Joan Rood’s Heasablackmagic, a 3-year-old Jet Black Patriot gelding who has won his last four starts since he was claimed for $10,000 at Delta Downs in May, and Open Me A Corona, a multiple stakes winning 4-year-old Coronas Leaving You stallion campaigned by Charles Forbes Jr. and Tommy Hays.
