BOSSIER CITY, LA—JANUARY 3, 2017—Joel Galindo’s Scoopies Leaving You, a multiple stakes-winning son of Coronas Leaving You, will make his 6-year-old debut in Saturday’s 250-yard, $15,000 Harrah’s Dash Stakes, one of two stakes on Louisiana Downs’ opening-day program.
Trained by Kevin Broussard, Scoopies Leaving You holds the track record for the 250-yard distance -- :12.97 -- which he set when he won last year’s Harrah’s Dash. The stallion has won 15 of his 33 outs -- including eight of nine at Louisiana Downs -- and has banked $283,080.
Scoopies Leaving You drew post 4 and will be ridden by Donald Watson. His nine opponents include Barefoot Beach, a 4-year-old daughter of Ivory James trained by Yoani Abreu for owner Samuel Martinez. Barefoot Beach is coming off of a sophomore campaign during which she won stakes at Fair Grounds and Evangeline Downs and was a finalist in the 440-yard, $363,000 Texas Classic Derby (G1) at Lone Star Park.
Raul Ramirez Jr. will ride Barefoot Beach from post 5 in the Harrah’s Dash.

Tempting Dashforcash, a two-time allowance winner during the Evangeline Downs fall meet, will be seeking his first stakes victory in Saturday’s 870-yard, $15,000 Marathon Stakes.
Trained by John Stinebaugh for the Marla K. Robinson Family Trust, Tempting Dashforcash has won three of 14 starts, including two of three at the 870 distance, and has earned $23,494. The 5-year-old son of champion Tempting Dash drew post 8 and will be ridden by Gilbert Ortiz.
