OKLAHOMA CITY, OK--FEBRUARY 5, 2018--Due to anticipated sub-freezing temperatures and possibly inclement winter weather at Remington Park on Tuesday (Feb. 6) the first day or training for the upcoming American Quarter Horse Season has been postponed.

Local weather forecasters are calling for bitter temperatures, accompanied by a chance for freezing rain or snow on Tuesday. The initial day for horses to train over the Remington Park racing surface, weather permitting, will be Wednesday (Feb. 7).

Wednesday is also the first scheduled day of training races (see related story) at Remington Park. There will be six training races on both Wednesday and Thursday. Both training race cards will begin at 11 am. The 2018 American Quarter Horse, Paint and Appaloosa Season begins on March 9 at Remington Park, continuing thru June 2.

Remington Park conducts training races, normally until the end of March, allowing horsemen to gain experience for horses preparing to make their career debuts.

The 2018 American Quarter Horse, Paint and Appaloosa Season at Remington Park begins with a weekend of activity Friday, March 9 thru Sunday, March 11. The first race on Opening Night, March 9 is at 6pm. The first race on Saturday, March 10 starts at 4pm. Sunday action on March 11 is underway at 1:30pm.
