Rillito Seeks Operator Bids For Historic Racetrack
TUCSON, AZ––MARCH 14, 2025–Pima County, which owns historic Rillito Park in Tucson, Arizona has opened request for proposals for racing operators to operate a 2026 racing season.
The Tucson, Arizona, racetrack sometimes called the birthplace of American Quarter Horse racing has been shuttered since 2023.
It has a long and storied history, having opened in 1943, and often employs students of the University of Arizona's Race Track Industry Program. Many American Quarter Horse Hall of Famers made some of their fame and fortune at Rillito.
