Sam Houston Futurity and Derby final sustaining payments are due today, April 15.

HOUSTON, TX—APRIL 15, 2025—Final sustaining payments and late nominations to the Grade 2 $450,000-est. Sam Houston Futurity and the Grade 3 $200,000-est. Sam Houston Derby are due today, April 15th.

The Sam Houston Race Park Quarter Horse Meet will begin on April 24 and run through June 14. Racing will be conducted on Thursdays starting at 4:30 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 6:30 p.m. (CDT).

The Sam Houston Futurity trials will be contested for the first time at a distance of 350 yards on Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24. The final for the $150,000 added race will run back at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday, June 14.

Nominated American Quarter Horse foals of 2023 must pay the $800 sustaining payment by Tuesday, April 15, to remain eligible.

Late nominations for the 2025 Sam Houston Futurity can be made for $1,100 plus all fees (total $3,250) by today, April 15.

Please have the $1,000 At Time of Entry Payments in your Texas Horsemen's Account by entry days on May 15th and 16th.
