OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–FEBRUARY 3, 2026–Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association (OQHRA) issued a series of updates for horsemen this week, outlining changes to the training schedule, upcoming administrative dates, and a biosecurity notice.
Due to weather-related delays affecting ongoing track renovations at Remington Park, the start of training has been postponed until Saturday, February 7. Officials acknowledged the inconvenience and emphasized their commitment to providing a safe and consistent racing surface.
Several key administrative dates were also confirmed. Carly with APHA will be available in the racing office on Thursday, February 5, to assist with Paint registration paper transfers. Schooling race entries will be taken on Friday, with registration papers required to be on file and a $125 balance in the owner’s account at the time of entry. The schooling race draw is scheduled for Monday, February 9.
Hair testing at Remington Park begins Thursday, February 5, and will be conducted Monday through Friday. Appointments must be scheduled by noon the day prior by calling or texting (405) 881-5120.
Officials also confirmed that the safe date for opening weekend is February 12, with the zero date set for noon on February 18. Horsemen were reminded that digital health certificates must be printed and in hand upon arrival at the stable gate.
In a separate update, officials reported an EIA positive at the Sallisaw Training Center (BRD). OQHRA is working closely with state authorities to determine appropriate protocols. At this time, horses from BRD are not being permitted on the grounds.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
