First Annual BBF Quarter Horse Banquet Set for March 7 at Louisiana Downs

ALEXANDRIA, LA–FEBRUARY 23, 2026–The LQHBA is helping to support the Backside Benevolence Fund (BBF) by hosting the first BBF Quarter Horse Banquet on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Louisiana Downs.

The Backside Benevolence Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation based at Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, providing in-kind assistance along with spiritual, medical, and social support to the backstretch community

Working alongside Winner’s Circle Church, pastored by Chaplain Jimmy Sistrunk, the organization offers programs that include weekly church services, Vacation Bible School, English as a Second Language classes, and seasonal gatherings for backside families

Fundraisers such as the upcoming banquet hosted by the LQHBA ensure those services remain available year-round.

The event will begin immediately following the final Mardi Gras Futurity Trial and will take place in the Red River Room. The evening is designed to bring the Quarter Horse community together in support of the Backside Benevolence Fund and the important work it provides to those on the backside.

Banquet tickets are priced at $20 per person, with tables of eight available for $160. A $50 Reverse Draw will be held with a prize awarded for every 10 numbers drawn. Cash prizes will be distributed at #80 for $250, #90 for $750, and the final number drawn, #100, worth $1,500.

Payments for tickets/table, reverse drawing tickets, raffle tickets, or donations can be made using Venmo. Please provide the name you would like displayed and a description of the purchase.

The banquet will also include a silent auction and multiple raffles, highlighted by the Princess and the Pig Raffle. Tickets for the raffle are $5 each. First place will receive their choice of a pig or a necklace, with second place taking the remaining item. The pig raffle includes processing.

The LQHBA is currently accepting donations for the silent auction and encourage horsemen and supporters to get involved. Those wishing to donate, reserve individual tickets, or secure a table should contact Chaplain Jimmy at 318-560-7466 or Misty Coats at 318-487-9506.
