Jess No Secrets Earns Wyoming Distance Challenge Title, Books Spot in G1 Championship

EVANSTON, WY—JULY 12, 2025—Showing grit and determination, Jess No Secrets surged clear to win the $38,428 Q-Racing Video Wyoming Distance Challenge Stakes at Wyoming Downs on Saturday afternoon, securing a berth in the Grade 1 $115,000-estimated Q-Racing Video Distance Challenge Championship on October 18 at The Downs at Albuquerque.

Bred and owned by Ross V. Alire of Colorado, Jess No Secrets covered the 870 yards in 45.083 seconds, earning a 102 speed index on a fast track

The 6-year-old sorrel gelding, by No Secrets Here out of Jess Breeze by Feature Mr Jess, is trained by Rick Scudder and was ridden to victory by jockey Jimmy Coates. The win added $18,445 to the gelding’s lifetime bankroll of $86,496. The multiple stakes winner came into the race as the fastest qualifier in the June 28 trials.

Runner-up honors went to Sassquach, who dueled early but was caught late to finish two lengths back. The 4-year-old gelding by Jess Good Candy out of Quartertimereaction by Apollo (TB), is owned and bred in Idaho by Eric Blackner and CG Racing LLC.

Jarrett Mills conditions the sorrel gelding and Eric Ayala had the call. Sassquach collected $7,878 for his effort, stopping the clock in 45.368 seconds for a 97 speed index. The two-time winner from 10 starts has earned $23,596.

Finishing third was longshot Y O Zoomin Ollie, who showed early speed but settled for third, another 1¼ lengths back. The gray gelding, a 4-year-old by multiple stakes sire Fiftyshadezofgrey out of Zoomin Daphne by Azoom, was bred in Wyoming by Gerald F. Kaul. Owned by Mike Harrigfeld and trained by Travis Lusk, Y O Zoomin Ollie earned $3,843 under jockey Keivan Serrano, pushing his earnings total to $17,525.

Pari-mutuel payoffs returned $14.20 to win, $5.40 to place, and $4.00 to show on Jess No Secrets. Sassquach paid $4.00 and $3.80, while Y O Zoomin Ollie returned $7.00 to show.

Katies Boy Joe finished fourth, followed by Dance The Dust Off, Jess Yaya, Broken Arrow, and Baby I Du to complete the order of finish.

With today’s gutsy performance, Jess No Secrets secured his place in the starting gate for the prestigious G1 Q-Racing Video Distance Challenge Championship this fall in Albuquerque.
