ALBUQUERQUE, NM–OCTOBER 16, 2025–Wynnchester is pointing to Saturday's Q-Racing Video Distance Challenge (G1) with a deep support team behind him.

While he comes into the race off a rallying win in the $26,554 Q-Racing Video Will Rogers Distance Challenge in late September, which will likely garner him popularity with the betting public, his biggest group of supporters is likely his ownership group, the Lucky Ladies.

This group is nearly a decade old, and is headed by Linda Joiner. Its exact membership has varied over the years, but what stays true is the group of women have raced some fast horses and had a lion’s share of fun while doing it.

Linda’s husband, Mike, advises the group and manages and trains its horses. He selects prospects for them at the sales, and the women inspect the horses and make decisions.

Among their runners Midday News, who lit the board in multiple Grade 1 races and earned $383,270, and the perfectly named A Lucky Ladies Man, who was third in the 2019 Golden State Million Futurity (G1) and who earned $149,872 in his career.

“For us, the Ladies is something for us to get together as a group,” Linda said. “Most of these ladies like to have something in their life that is exciting outside of just general life. This gives us something we do that all of us can do together.”

The group has a text chat to keep up with each other, and gather for their horses’ races and have the opportunity to enjoy a night together and – hopefully – celebrate in the winner’s circle together.

Wynnchester has won or placed in more than half of his races and has earned $54,280 to date.

Bred by American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame horseman Bobby Cox, Wynnchester is by leading sire Favorite Cartel and out of the good mare Nellie Delaney who herself earned $211,305 on the racetrack.

Wynnchester will face a full gate of top distance horses, including reigning champion distance horse Volcoms Favorite, who is returning in an attempt to defend his title in the Grade 1 race.

Wynnchester will certainly be ready for a great race in Albuquerque – and have a built-in fan club behind him. Be sure to tune in to the AQHA Racing Challenge Championships at the Downs at Albuquerque on October 18.

“It’s something we really enjoy,” Linda said.
