ALTOONA, IA—AUGUST 15, 2026—Margarets Cowboy pulled away late to score a 1 1/4-length victory Saturday in the $48,714 Adequan Prairie Meadows Derby Challenge at Prairie Meadows.

Ridden by Miguel Ramirez for trainer John Hammes, Margarets Cowboy broke on top and finished strongly to complete the 400 yards over a fast track in :19.676, earning a 97 speed index. The sorrel gelding collected $22,408 for the victory.

The win improved Margarets Cowboy's record to three wins, one second and four thirds from 14 career starts with earnings of $107,557. He also won the John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge and finished third in the John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2). He has been a finalist in the Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity, Mr Master Bug Stakes(G3) and Valley Junction Futurity(G3).

Bradbury Racing and John D. Hammes own and bred Margarets Cowboy in Oklahoma. Hammes trains the son of leading sire Flying Cowboy 123 from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Now Margaret.

This Iz My Time finished 1 1/4 lengths behind the winner in second and earned $9,743 for owner Stephen Williams. The black filly held a neck advantage over Roy Hobs for the runner-up spot. Armando Alvidrez rode for trainer Jason Olmstead.

Bred in Oklahoma by Southfork Equine LLC/LS Racing Inc., This Iz My Time is by champion sire Valiant Hero from the One Famous Eagle mare Senorita Sweetness. She has won twice, finished second three times and third once in eight starts and has earned $44,003.

Roy Hobs finished a neck back in third, earning $4,871 for owners and breeders Diane and Paul Wolfe. The Oklahoma-bred gelding was bumped at the start before finishing third under jockey Alfredo Triana Jr. for trainer Edward Hardy.

Roy Hobs is by multiple stakes sire One Fabulous Eagle from the Check Him Out mare Check Out Kaelie. He has won three of seven starts with one second and one third and earnings of $39,227.

Completing the field were Fast Draw in fourth, followed by Jess Flash the Cash, Eagle of Fire, Viva Le Venus, Eye Winsom, Nsm Flying Corona, and Raizen Kane.
