Sweet Fire Wes Sets 3-1 Morning-Line Favorite For AQHA Quarter Horse Futurity at Turf Paradise

PHOENIX, AZ—DECEMBER 18, 2024—Sweet Fire Wes has been set at 3-1 as the morning-line favorite in the $45,000 AQHA Quarter Horse Futurity at Turf Paradise on Monday, December 23.

Then, 2-year-olds are set to make their final appearance as juveniles in the 350-yard event at the Arizona racetrack.

Adolfo Celaya will saddle Sweet Fire Wes for owner-breeder Fernando Canales. The daughter of multiple stakes sire Panama West she was the third fastest qualifier after winning her November 30th trial by a nose.

A finalist in the Desert Classic Futurity last May, Sweet Fire Wes broke her maiden at Turf Paradise on November 12. Out of the One Sweet Jess mare, the bay filly has two wins in four starts and has earned $16,469.

Say Something, the fastest qualifier and recent third-place finish in the Grade 3 Wild West Futurity at Los Alamitos Race Course, has been set at 4-1 as the second morning-line favorite.

Matthew Fales will saddle the daughter of first-crop sire Tell Cartel for his parents, Ralph and Carolyn Fales, who are owner-breeders. Also, a finalist in the Desert Classic Futurity, Say Something has compiled. (7) 2-2-1 record and earned $26,621. The sorrel filly is out of Shiftin by Gol.
