Retama Park will host 12 training races on a non-wagering race card on Wednesday. First post is noon (CST).

SELMA, TX–MARCH 25, 2025–A pair of six-figure "Summer Sale" yearlings will face off in the fourth of 12 training races to be contested over 250 yards at Retama Park on Wednesday.

The training races begin at noon (CST). Parking and admission are FREE. All ages are welcome. This is a non-wagering event.

In Race 4, Notoryous, a $300,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, will face off with Bar Favorito, a $190,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate.

Trainer Cristian Alcala has tapped jockey Juan Pulido to ride Notoryous for owner JSM Quarter Horses LLC. The son of leading sire One Famous Eagle is a half-brother to All American Derby(G1) winner Instygator and Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner Shott Gun.

Notoryous was sold under the name Leave Eyez (Hip #237) in the Ruidoso Sale last summer. He is out of the stakes-placed Mr Eye Opener mare Eye Popping. Bobby D. Cox is the breeder.

Leading trainer Marc Jungers will saddle Bar Favorito for the owner of KK Horse Racing. Out of the stakes-winning First Down Dash mare, Aquafina, Bar Favorito sold under the name Favorite Water Hole (Hip #270)  in September at Heritage Place. 

Bred by McColee Land & Livestock LLC, he is a Favorite Cartel half-brother to five black type winners, including Valley Junction Futurity winner Aqua Flash.

Jungers will send out two additional six-figure yearlings scheduled in Race 7 and 12.
