OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–APRIL 17, 2025–Nine stakes, led by the 330-yard, $868,455 Remington Park Futurity (RG1) for Oklahoma-bred juveniles, headline Saturday’s 12-race program at Remington Park.
Post time for Saturday’s first race is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).
Entice Me Ona Monday, the fastest overall qualifier from a total of 20 trials contested on muddy and sealed tracks April 4-5, is the morning-line favorite for the Remington Park Futurity. Trained by Jason Olmstead for owner Tejas Troubadors, the sorrel son of freshman sire Cyber Monday made his career debut with a half-length victory in his April 4 trial.
Entice Me Ona Monday was a $30,000 purchase from breeder Monty McNair at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The gelding drew post 4 and will be ridden by Ramiro Garcia.
Miguel A. Vargas’ Jamies Sin Tacha was the third-fastest overall qualifier but the fastest qualifier from the second night of trials, April 5. Sent to post as the 11-10 favorite, the gelded son of Dulce Sin Tacha won his heat by a half of a length while making his career debut.
Jamies Sin Tacha drew post 2 and will be ridden by Christian Cardenas for trainer James Gonzales III.
Ten state-bred sophomores are entered back in Saturday’s 400-yard, $185,420 Remington Park Derby (RG1).
Relentless American was the seventh-fastest qualifier from four trials run on a muddy and sealed track on April 6, but the sorrel son of champion Hes Relentless ended his 2-year-old season with a five-race win streak that included a pair of futurity wins at Will Rogers Downs.
Relentless American has won two of his three outs at Remington Park, including last year’s Remington Park Juvenile Invitational Stakes. Jason Olmstead trains the homebred gelding for owners Tom Maher and Amber Olmstead.
Relentless American drew post 5 and will be ridden by Ramiro Garcia.
Saturday’s 400-yard, $100,000 Dee Raper Sooner State Stakes (RG1) has drawn a field of nine Oklahoma-bred aged runners.
Mauricio Garza’s RGs Gold Wagon will be stretching out in distance off of his wire-to-wire, 1 1/4-length victory in the April 6, 350-yard Mr Jet Moore Stakes (RG2) for state-bred sprinters. Steven Jordan trains the 5-year-old Prized Wagon gelding.
RGs Gold Wagon drew post 6 and will be ridden by James Flores.
A full field of 10 sprinters is entered in Saturday’s 300-yard, $50,000 Bob Moore Memorial Stakes (G2).
Sherry Gilmore’s Heavens Uncle made his sophomore season debut with a half-length win as the odds-on favorite in a 300-yard, $26,000 allowance sprint on March 21. A homebred son of Uncle D trained by Guillermo Valdivia, the chestnut gelding has won three of his four starts at Remington Park, including last year’s Remington Park Futurity.
Heavens Uncle drew post 7 and will be ridden by Bryan Candanosa.
Fastest qualifier Eyesa Wagon My Tale drew post 3 for Saturday’s 400-yard, $160,670 Remington Park Oaks (R) for Oklahoma-bred 3-year-old fillies.
Eyesa Wagon My Tale is coming off of a half-length victory in the second of three trials on April 6. Marc Jungers trains the sorrel Wagon Tales filly for owner Lelo Land and Cattle LLC.
Eyesa Wagon My Tale will be ridden by Francisco Calderon.
The other four stakes scheduled for Saturday at Remington Park are: the 350-yard, $75,000 Easy Date Stakes (G2) for fillies and mares; the 330-yard, $75,000 Laico Bird Stakes (RG3) for Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds; the 350-yard, $75,000 Mr Master Bug Stakes (RG3) for state-bred sophomores; and the 330-yard, $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Stakes (R) for state-bred 2-year-olds.
