OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 10, 2025—This coming Sunday, May 11, sixty-three fillies will participate in the Heritage Place Oaks [G2] trials at Remington Park. They will compete in seven heats, each covering a 400-yard distance.
Apollitical Muse, a filly by Apollitical Jess, is slated to run in the fourth race of the first heat. Fresh off a victory in the Remington Park Oaks on April 19, the $55,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate is owned by Gregory Cullum. Trained by Jed Van, Apollitical Muse will be ridden by Juan Pulido, starting from the third post position.
Race six will feature Bv Elaina Rey, a supplementary contender who delivered a strong performance by finishing second to Apollitical Muse in the Remington Park Oaks. Bv Elaina Rey, a homebred filly running for Bella Vista Farms, is a daughter of Valiant Hero and has only missed the board once in eight starts. Under the guidance of trainer Eddie Lee Wills and jockey Jhaciel Soto, she will start from the sixth post position.
Race seven features Dk Marney Jess, a Mexico-bred filly by Apollitical Jess. Owned by CH Horse Racing, LLC, she is the even-money favorite in her trial.
Al Ray Watson conditions Dk Marney Jess and will be ridden by Nestor Duran from post eight. With an impressive career spanning nine lifetime starts, she has won seven races and earned $513,255.
Race nine highlights Catchn Southern Rays, a homebred filly by Apollitical Jess, owned by Leann J. Burns. She demonstrated her competitive edge by winning last year’s Black Gold Fillies Futurity. Trained by Stacey Charette Hill and ridden by regular jockey Cristian Esqueda from post four, this filly has achieved three notable victories, accumulating $266,652 in earnings.
The top ten fastest fillies will advance to the finals on May 31st, contending for a prize of $300,900 in the Heritage Place Oaks [G2].
