VINTON, LA—MAY 12, 2025—Fastest qualifier Jess Telling Beau clocked the quickest time from 110 trial races contested April 28, for Saturday's $194,020 Old South Futurity goiong 330 yards at Delta Downs.
Jess Telling Beau entered the trials after a third-place finish in her maiden start, which helped her find her best stride late to secure the fastest qualifying time.
She is a homebred filly sired by second-crop sire Tell Cartel racing for owner-breeder Francisco Javier Garza and trained by Patrick L. Clemons. She will race from post six, with top jockey Nestor Duran riding.
Coronados Image will compete in the finals with the most experience. This gelding, sired by Coronado Cartel, qualified for the Louisiana Downs Futurity [G2] on March 29, where he finished fourth and has lifetime earnings of $27,810.
Coronados Image was purchased for $13,500 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale by owner Jose A. Ramos. Saul Ramirez Jr. trains him and will be ridden by Claudio P. Aguilar from post three.
