Shelbyville, IN–June 24, 2025–The stage is set for one of Indiana's most anticipated two-year-old Quarter Horse events of the summer. On Thursday, June 26, a field of forty-eight Registered Indiana-bred juveniles will clash over four heats in the Jaguar Rocket Futurity Trials at Indiana Grand Race Course, all vying for a coveted spot in the $100,000 (estimated) final set for July 19, 2025.

Each of the four trial races will cover 350 yards, with the ten fastest times advancing to the final.

Thirty Six Bricks leads the charge, kicking off the trials in Race 9, is the commanding 1-1 morning line favorite, Thirty Six Bricks, a gelding who already boasts a maiden win on May 31 at Indiana Grand. Trained by Anthony F. Cunningham and piloted by Luz D. Martinez, Thirty Six Bricks will break from post two and is expected to leverage his early experience to stamp his ticket to the final.

Sired by Tres Seis out of Bux for Bricks, Thirty Six Bricks was bred by Zerlotti Equine Reproduction and is owned by Brad Shirey. One of only three maiden-breakers in the field, the gelding enters with solid momentum and strong connections behind him.

In the second trial heat, attention shifts to the 3-1 filly Vikina, bred, owned, and trained by Ricardo Martinez. Sired by Coronas Leaving You out of Jess My Joy (by Mr Jess Perry), Vikina comes off a professional maiden victory on May 27, where she cruised to a ¾ length win.

With Martin Munoz back aboard, Vikina will break from post two and attempt to secure a spot among the top ten qualifiers. To date, she has earned $10,265, and Thursday’s effort will be a crucial step in her young career.

Third trial heat contender Valiant Richard, listed at 7-5, may be the most battle-tested colt in the field. After a hard-fought third-place finish in May—just a neck shy of victory—the Valiant Hero gelding is ready to improve.

He is bred and owned by Amy Youngblood and trained by Tim Eggleston, Valiant Richard will get the outside post ten, with Luis E. Luna Diaz in the irons. The gelding’s grit and determination could make him a sneaky threat in this heat.

The final trial of the night, Race 12, promises to be the most competitive. Leading the field is the 7-5 morning line favorite Kiss a Favorite, shipping in from Remington Park, where she has faced deeper company. Her three career starts include a close third in the Heritage Place Futurity trials and a narrow second-place finish in maiden company.

She is sired by Kiss My Hocks out of Eyes a Favorite (by Favorite Cartel). The filly is another combo for Ricardo Martinez as breeder, owner, and trainer.

Martin Munoz will be in the saddle for the first time, drawing post eight in what could be the defining trial of the evening.

With a deep field of promising Indiana-bred juveniles, all four heats are expected to produce competitive, high-speed races. Regardless of finish position, the top ten fastest runners from the trials will advance to the Jaguar Rocket Futurity Final on July 19, where a six-figure purse and future bragging rights await.

Post time for Thursday’s trials begins with Race 9 at 6:15 PM. Fans can expect a thrilling evening of juvenile speed as the next generation of Indiana-bred Quarter Horses looks to break out on the big stage.
