SHELBYVILLE, IN–SEPTEMBER 13, 2025–Horseshoe Indianapolis will host the Sterlie Bertram Memorial trials on Monday, September 15, with a field of eighteen Indiana-bred three-year-olds set to contest two trial heats at 400 yards. The ten fastest qualifiers will earn their place in the $100,000 Sterlie Bertram Memorial finals on October 8.

Trainer Tim Eggleston will saddle the top three morning-line choices heading into the trials, led by Wrs Mynameisrip, winner of the 2024 (G3) $236,000 Miss Roxie Little Futurity. The Tarzanito–Wrs Hava Cricket, by Fast Prize Jordan, gelding has compiled four wins in ten starts and banked $171,202 for owner and breeder Williams Racing Stables, Inc. Drawn into post seven, Wrs Mynameisrip will have Luis E. Luna Diaz in the irons as he looks to secure a qualifying spot.

Stablemate Beach First is the second morning-line choice at 3-1. Owned by Gregg Farris and bred by Sheri Miller, the Escondido Beach–Gevalia, by Brimmerton, gelding has already proven himself in the division with a victory in the $128,000 Blue River Derby and a runner-up finish in the QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Invitational Stakes. With lifetime earnings of $128,884, Beach First will break from post five under jockey Rolando D. Pina.

Completing the trio is Apollitical Mission, the 3-5 morning-line favorite in race ten. The Transmission–Apollitical Deb, by Apollitical Jess, gelding has enjoyed a productive sophomore campaign, highlighted by wins in the $59,000 Leader of the Class Sale Futurity and the $100,000 Harley Greene Derby, along with a third-place effort in the Blue River Derby finals. Owned by Phillip R. Harrison and bred by Walter R. “Dick” Harrison, Apollitical Mission has earned $146,462 to date. He will start from post nine with regular rider Rolando D. Pina aboard for Eggleston.

The stage is set for a competitive pair of trials, promising an exciting showdown on October 8 in the $100,000 Sterlie Bertram Memorial finals at 400 yards.
