LOS ALAMITOS, CA–OCTOBER 2, 2025–Led by Grade 1 Ed Burke Million Futurity winner Jess Im Worth It and Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity winner Apollirevenge, a sensational lineup of 113 juveniles will be in action for a massive night of trials to the Grade 1, $1,170,950 Golden State Million Futurity on Saturday at Los Alamitos.
The night will consist of 14 trials at the distance of 400 yards, with the horses with the 10 fastest times advancing to the Golden State Million final on Sunday, October 26.
And with every race on the card being a trial race, the 14-race program will feature three Pick Four wagers with the first race on the card set for 6:05 p.m. Average field size for the program is 8.14 horses per race. The purse for the Golden State final will also be the richest since 2011.
In addition to the Grade 1 futurity winners, the lineup will feature Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity winner Beuteeful and Grade 3 Laico Bird Futurity winner BP Hail Mary.

All in all, there are 27 runners that have already won a futurity trial race, including nine with a trial victory to a major futurity at either Ruidoso Downs, Remington Park, or The Downs at Albuquerque. Twenty-six of the sprinters in this mega-card also have previous experience in a futurity final.
The opening trial will be headed by Corinna Sosa’s AJ Remember Me, the third-place finisher in the Grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity. The Apollitical Jess colt was a daylight winner in his Ruidoso trial and ran evenly when finishing behind AJ Remember Me in that final, which was won by eventual All American Futurity runner-up Political Twist.
Keith Nellesen’s Beuteeful will be in action in the second trial. She’s unbeaten in three starts, two of those wins being 1 ½ length victories. The KVN Corona filly won the Grade 2 Kindergarten Futurity in gate-to-wire fashion, and in her Kindergarten trial, she scored after overcoming trouble at the start.
The third trial will be led Dunn Ranch’s DR Urban Cowboy, who was second in the $100,000 Remington Park Oklahoma-bred Juvenile race. Bobby Cox’s Coronatyd, who looked strong in her California debut on September 7, will also be part of this race.
Gamaliel Garza Garcia’s Accelerated, purchased for a Los Alamitos Equine Sale record price of $850,000 last year, returns in trial number four after running third in his All American Futurity trial. He ran seventh in the Ed Burke Million earlier this year.
EG High Desert Farms’ Jess Im Worth It won the Ed Burke by a ¾ lengths after being eighth at the start and fifth soon after leaving the gate. The colt by A Mere Felix has record three wins in a row and two of his wins have come from an inside post. He’ll start from post two in this race.
LA Racing Stables’ Surprise Temptation, who dominated his Ruidoso Futurity trial, is two for two in his career. He has not raced since May 23 and will now compete in race six. Steve Mickaelian and Juan Moya’s Cowboy Country 123, fourth in the PCQHRA Breeders Futurity, and graded futurity finalists Heavily Favored and Mastros will also compete in this event.
Thompson Racing, Alexis Andrade and Paul Jones’ Doodah Cartel, a qualifier for both the Ed Burke and PCQHRA Breeders Futurity, will headline the seventh trial, while Dunn Ranch’s DR Americas Dynasty, who was fourth in the Heritage Place Futurity, is among the top names in the eighth trial.
Multiple winners Walk When I Walk, owned by Barry Woodhouse, and Error Code, racing for Bobby and Catherine Simmons, will head trial number nine. Bill Price’s BP Hail Mary and Licon Farm and Ranch’s Vyper, fifth in the Ed Burke, will face off with Ed Allred’s Governor’s Cup Futurity finalist Next Norco in race number 10.
Trial 11 shapes up as another strong contest with Newcomb Racing’s Ed Burke finalist Cattail Coast meeting the Marc Jungers-trainee Scary Flight, a local winner in his first start here, and Rainbow trial winner DR Make It Sweet.
Burns Ranch’s French Valley, the runner-up to Jess Im Worth It in the Ed Burke, will head race number 12.
Another top juvenile is Dunn Ranch’s Apollirevenge, a winner in all three of her starts, including a dead-heat victory in the Heritage Place final. The A Revenant filly heads the 13th trial, Parsons Ranch’s PCQHRA Breeders Futurity finalist, The Lady Is A Vamp, and the stakes-placed Hi Octane.
Travis and Wendy Saxton’s El Dictator, second in the Governor’s Cup Futurity, will head the 14th and final heat of the night. The gelding by Favorite Cartel won his previous two starts before the Governor’s Cup runner-up effort. Steve Burns’ Bear Down, who also competed in the Governor’s Cup, is another top contender in this trial.
