PHOENIX, AZ–April 24, 2026—The Monday afternoon program at Turf Paradise features a competitive nine-race card highlighted by the $80,920 Desert Classic Futurity and the $17,800 Desert Classic Futurity Consolation Stakes, both showcasing juveniles who advanced from the April 6 trial heats.
The spotlight falls on race two, where the 300-yard $80,920 Desert Classic Futurity will bring together the ten fastest qualifiers. Cyber Buzz enters as the 3-1 morning line favorite after delivering a standout performance in the trials. Despite a brushed start, she surged to a decisive 2 1/2-length victory in her heat, posting the fastest qualifying time in a wire-to-wire effort. The filly has been sharp from the outset, breaking her maiden at first asking on March 12 and now boasting two wins from as many starts with earnings of $13,717.
Owned and trained by Alex J. Torres-Casas, Cyber Buzz was a bargain $8,000 purchase at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. She is sired by Cyber Monday and out of the Apollitical Jess mare Hunny Bee, bred in Oklahoma by Thomas J. Scheckel. Jockey Francisco Zamora will guide her from post nine as she looks to validate her favoritism in the final.
A full field of ten juveniles is scheduled to load into the gate at approximately 1:45 p.m., setting the stage for a competitive dash where early speed and a clean break will prove decisive.
Earlier on the card, the $17,800 Desert Classic Futurity Consolation Stakes will be contested in the opener, featuring the next ten fastest qualifiers from the April 6 trials. New Year Cartel headlines the field as the 5-2 morning line favorite from the rail. She finished third in her trial, two and a half lengths behind Cyber Buzz, and has shown consistency in both of her career starts.
Owned by Juan Ruelas, the New Mexico-bred filly is by Big Daddy Cartel out of the First Down Dash mare New Year Secret. Trained by Adolfo Armendariz-Celaya, she will have jockey Jacob Enriquez aboard as she looks to capitalize on her early experience and secure a victory.
First post is set for 1:15 p.m., offering fans and bettors a full afternoon of racing action led by a promising group of juveniles aiming to make their mark in the Desert Classic series.
The races at Turf Paradise can be watched on Q-Racing Video.
