TULSA, OK–JUNE 24, 2026–Saturday night at Fair Meadows Tulsa features a 10-race card highlighted by the Grade 1 $12,500 Ray Graves Memorial Stakes, with a competitive field of seven older Paint and Appaloosa runners set to line up in the second race of the evening. The 350-yard feature is scheduled for approximately 6:25 p.m. and will bring together accomplished stakes performers seeking to add another Grade 1 victory to their resumes.
Wire Tap is the 2-1 morning-line favorite after another consistent campaign. The five-year-old gelding has spent the past two seasons facing allowance and stakes company, regularly finishing on the board. He opened his 2026 season with a runner-up effort in the Grade 1 $24,000 Mister Lewie Memorial Stakes, finishing behind stablemate Livewires Turnpike, before returning in late May to defeat that same rival by a neck in allowance company. With nine career victories and earnings of $121,087, he enters the race as one of the most accomplished runners in the field.
The Oklahoma homebred is owned and bred by Dan and Kay Jones. He is sired by Crm Livewire and out of the Second Painted Sign mare Lindys Sign. Trainer Matt Whitekiller will saddle him from post five, with Cody R. Smith named to ride.
Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby is the 5-2 second choice on the morning line and brings strong recent form into Saturday's feature. The three-year-old gelding is coming off a victory in the Grade 1 $20,000 Speedhorse Paint and Appaloosa Stakes on May 30. He has finished first or second in each of his last five starts and has a record of five wins, four seconds, and one third in 12 career outings, earning $88,526.
Owned and bred in Oklahoma by Gary and Charity Hensley, the gelding is by Flying Cowboy 123 and out of the Crm Livewire mare Cuz Eyema Livewire. Jesus Ruben Ruiz trains him, and Gonzalo Gutierrez has the mount from post four.
Saturday's program offers a full evening of competitive racing, but the Ray Graves Memorial Stakes provides an early opportunity for fans to see some of the region's top older Paint and Appaloosa horses. With proven stakes winners and consistent contenders meeting over 350 yards, the Grade 1 feature is set to deliver one of the night's most competitive races.
