PRINEVILLE, OR–JULY 17, 2026–
Saturday night at Crooked River Roundup promises an exciting evening of racing as a 10-race card gets underway with a first post at 7:15 p.m. The spotlight will shine on two featured stakes races, the $20,000 Rhoden Memorial Stakes and the $7,850 Crooked River Hook Stakes, offering fans an outstanding blend of elite Quarter Horse sprinting and the unique challenge of mixed-breed racing around the turn.

The featured $20,000 Rhoden Memorial Stakes is scheduled as race six at approximately 9:20 p.m. An accomplished field of eight runners, ages three and up, will line up to sprint 250 yards.

Heading the field is the veteran gelding The Prize Ferarri, who continues to perform at the highest level at age eight. He enters Saturday's race off an impressive prep victory at Oregon Livestock, where he stalked the pace before surging clear late to earn his 24th career victory and post a 106 speed index. Purchased for $22,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale, the accomplished campaigner has been remarkably consistent, finishing in the money in 37 of his 40 career starts and earning $208,343 for owners RTM Stables and Bryon Good.Bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley, The Prize Ferarri is a son of The Louisiana Cartel, out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Ferarri Fast Prize. Mark Hanson trains the standout gelding, who will break from post five with Jaime E. Lopez aboard.

One of his top challengers is DC Ladys Dashn Eagle, who ships in after a determined head victory in the Director's Handicap Stakes. The six-year-old earned his first win since last September in that gritty performance and now looks to build on that momentum. The Washington-bred gelding has won nine races in his career while banking $96,629.

Bred and owned by Donald Conway, DC Ladys Dashn Eagle is by One Dashing Eagle and out of the Gol mare DC Lady Juno. Hector Magallanes trains the gelding, who will break from post six with Jake Samuels aboard.

Race eight will feature one of the most entertaining events on the card, as seven runners meet in the $7,850 Crooked River Hook Stakes. The field of Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds will travel 610 yards around the turn in the annual Battle of the Breeds, with post time set for approximately 10:10 p.m.

Leading the field is No Juans Fool, who enters in top form after winning his first two starts of the season. Most recently, the eight-year-old gelding captured a 610-yard event in a prolonged duel, drawing away late for a one-length victory. Earlier this season, he was equally impressive at Grants Pass, winning over 600 yards by 1¾ lengths. He has won six races and earned $47,174 for owner and trainer Sergio Leon.

Bred in Oregon by David McBride, No Juans Fool is a son of Fastnfierce, out of the Midnight Corona mare Juan Full Corona. Sergio Leon will saddle the veteran runner from post three, with Salvador Ibarra in the irons.

From accomplished veteran sprinters in the Rhoden Memorial Stakes to the always-popular Battle of the Breeds in the Crooked River Hook Stakes, Saturday night's program offers something for every racing fan. With quality fields, proven stakes performers, and the excitement of horses racing around the turn, Crooked River Roundup is set to deliver another memorable evening of racing.
