PILOT POINT, TX–SEPTEMBER 26, 2024–Highpoint Barrel Horses announced September 24 on Facebook, "It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our legendary Winners Version.

"Winners Version passed away last night due to complications from a colic surgery. His loss is felt deeply here at Highpoint and throughout the entire Quarter Horse industry.

"Winners Version was an incredible athlete and stallion with progeny earning in excess of $7 million dollars in the racing, barrel racing, and team roping pens.

"We were honored to have owned him. His lineage will live on through his incredible sons and daughters. We will be offering frozen semen with a limited book."

Winners Version was a 2006 brown stallion bred by AQHA Past President Jerry Windham of College Station, Texas. He was sired by Holland Ease, out of The Jubilee Diamond by Runaway Winner. He was purchased by Highpoint Horses of Pilot Point, Texas, in 2022.

Winners Version earned nearly $400,000 on the track before retiring to stud, where he sired earners of more than $7 million.

According to QData, his foals have earned $5,997,850 on the racetrack, $1,207,256 in barrel racing, and $112,635 in all roping events.

Top earners include Seeyalateralligator ($373,492 racing), Dungarees Version ($196,949 racing), and Upstream Jack ($189,039 barrel racing).
