LOS ALAMITOS, CA–APRIL 5, 2025–Owners Bobby and Catherine Simmons enjoyed a pair of victories with their 2-year-old first-time starters Wake Up Lil Suze and Error Code, the latter being the first winner sired by freshman stallion Mental Error.

Both runners won their debuts here on Saturday night with the Texas-bred filly Wake Up Lil Suze taking the sixth race by a length at 17-1 odds, with the California-bred filly Error Code won the seventh by ¾ lengths at 9-2 odds.

Henry Reynoso Lopez piloted both winners for trainer Paul Jones. Both horses also arrived at Los Alamitos after being part of training races at Remington Park.

Error Code is by the young stallion Mental Error, who was a stakes winners and nearly $400,000 earner during a 24-race career exclusive at Los Alamitos.

Mental Error has had starters at Louisiana Downs, Sunland Park, and Remington Park, but it’s appropriate that his first winner comes at his home base of Los Alamitos.

Error Code covered the 220 yards in :12.252 while winning by ¾ lengths. She’s eligible to race in the trials to the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity on Saturday, April 19.

Wake Up Lil Suze is by Favorite Cartel out of the graded stakes winner and $400,000 earner Suze Returns. Wake Up Lil Suze covered the distance in :12.123 while winning by a length.
