Top Leading Second-Year-Sire Jess Paint Me Will Stand in Wyoming For 2026

EVANSTON, WY–SEPTEMBER 24, 2025–Bear River Equine proudly announces that Jess Paint Me will stand in Evanston, Wyoming, for the 2026 breeding season. His stud fee has been set at $1,500.

Owner Chris Nebeker of Roosevelt, Wyoming, couldn’t be more pleased with the stallion’s progress, stating, “He is having another great year with three stakes winners already.”

Jess Paint Me SI 90 was a two-time winner from six starts at Los Alamitos Race Course, earning $28,750. His 2-year-old campaign included qualifying for the prestigious $1,115,000 Ed Burke Million Futurity (G1).

As a sire, Jess Paint Me has quickly established himself among the most promising young stallions in the breed. He ended the 2024 season ranked among the top 10 first-year sires of money earners, represented by two stakes winners and average earnings of $46,500 per starter from just four foals to race.

In 2025, as a second-year sire, he continues to hold a top ten ranking with three stakes winners and $33,300 average earnings from nine starters.

Jess Paint Me will have two colts running this weekend at Sweetwater Downs. Mv Paint Me Jess qualified to the $183,350 WABRA Wyoming Bred Futurity and Outlaw Jess qualified to the $118,350 WABRA Wyoming Bred Derby. Watch for them in the finals on September 27.

From only 11 lifetime starters, Jess Paint Me has already sired four winners and one stakes-placed runner, siring an impressive 45% black type ratio. Nine of those 11 foals are winners, and his offspring are averaging $40,500 each.

His leading earners include Jess A Dash Of Class SI 103 ($201,260), winner of the Wyoming Bred Derby, WABRA Wyoming Bred Futurity, and KC Carden Accredited Wyoming Bred Derby, who also finished third in the Wyoming Downs Futurity. MV Paint Me Jess SI 98 ($114,747) captured the Ron Cook Accredited Wyoming Bred Futurity and was runner-up in the Energy Downs Futurity, and Outlaw Jess SI 103 ($65,507)won the Ron Cook Accredited Wyoming Bred Futurity.

Additional winners include Paint Me Ivory SI 96 ($16,420) and Paint The City SI 101 ($15,457), runner-up in the Elko County Fair Derby.

Jess Paint Me was bred by Speed, LLC and sold for $90,000 as a yearling at the 2019 Heritage Place Sale.

He is a son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon SI 107 ($889,581), winner of the Texas Classic Futurity (G1) and Texas Classic Derby (G1). A sire of 130 stakes winners, including three champions and more than 873 winners, Pyc Paint Your Wagon’s offspring have earned over $43.5 million.

Pyc Paint Your Wagon’s champions include The Fiscal Cliff SI 109 ($580,425, AQHA Challenge Championship-G1), Curls Happy Wagon SI 103 ($360,674, Mildred N. Vessels Memorial H.-G1), and Mystic Paint SI 103 ($327,538, Keokuk S.-G3).

His other Stakes winners include Hooked N Gone SI 106 ($762,443, Debbie Schauf Remington Park Invitational Champ.-G1), and Mr Pyc To You SI 97 ($488,820, Champion of Champions-G1).

Jess Paint Me’s dam is the AQHA Dam of Distinction Jess Sass Me SI 107 ($110,503), a stakes-winning daughter of Mr Jess Perry.

The Blue Hen Mare is the dam of 41 winners, 51 ROM, and 16 black-type performers from 57 foals to race, including champions Jess Walking Thru SI 92 ($447,266, Dash For Cash Futurity-G1) and Sass Me Blue SI 93 ($296,378, Mildred N. Vessels Memorial H.-G1).

Jess Sass Me’s other standouts include Sassalitical SI 102 ($253,457, Decketta S.-G2), Speed Dynasty SI 103 ($220,464, La Fiesta Futurity), Jess Being Valiant SI 94 ($191,735, Gold State Juvenile), and Fire And Sass SI 93 ($140,756, Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity-G3).

She is also the granddam of 15 black-type horses, led by San Lorenzo Blood SI 106 ($290,990), Jess Dream Of Me SI 94 ($246,937), and Sass Go Blue SI 95 ($181,464).

His second dam, Sassy Smith SI 99 ($412,011), by Corona Cartel, was winner of the Kindergarten Futurity (G1). She is a half-sister to stakes winner Bully Bonds SI 107 ($151,127) and stakes-placed runners Wallstreet Darlin SI 101 and Miss Stocks N Bonds SI 97.

Sassy Smith produced six ROM and five winners, including stakes winner Jess Sass Me SI 107 and stakes-placed Lucky Me SI 101 ($80,644). She is also the granddam of stakes winners such as Into The Gray SI 99 (2025, $209,790), Irish Seis SI 96 ($172,931), and Sassy Moonflash SI 96 ($128,167).

With a strong start at stud and a pedigree lined with leading sires, champions, and prolific producers, Jess Paint Me is positioned to have a lasting impact in Wyoming and the Quarter Horse racing industry.
