WELMAR, TX–FEBRUARY 3, 2026–Texano Oaks Ranch proudly announces that TLC Willie Cartel will stand the 2026 breeding season in Welmar, Texas, marking his first year at stud. His introductory fee is set at $1,500 with considerations.
A 2021 stallion, TLC Willie Cartel, hit the board in eight of 18 career starts. He placed third in the Open Me A Corona Stakes (G2) and was a finalist in the LQHBA Sale Futurity (G1), LQHBA Breeders Derby (G3), and the Mr Jess Perry Stakes.
TLC Willie Cartel was purchased as a yearling by Dionicio Hernandez at the 2022 LQHBA Yearling Sale, for whom he raced. He was later acquired by current owner Zach Stevenson for $38,000 at the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale.
Bred by Grant Farms, LLC, TLC Willie Cartel is sired by leading sire The Louisiana Cartel, whose runners include 310 winners with earnings exceeding $12.8 million, led by EC Jet One ($1,370,385), winner of the All American Derby (G1).
He is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare First To Adore, a full sister to Adoring Jess ($27,790), winner of the Retama Juvenile Challenge and a stakes-producing mare. First To Adore is also a half-sister to stakes winner GW Chick ($96,804) and to the dam of New Mexico Hi-Point 3-Year-Old Colt and Grade 1 winner Cds Wine N Dine ($260,341), as well as MP Adored ($154,983), a stakes winner and Grade 1 finalist.
Adoring Jess is the dam of Adore The Hero ($87,217), winner of the La Fiesta Derby. First To Adore has further established her broodmare influence as the grandam of stakes-placed and Grade 1 finalist Jess Pretty N Black ($73,972), along with stakes-placed Fancy Pants Heidi ($50,752) and Jess Featured Girl ($83,894).
His second dam, First To Adore ($62,091), is a stakes-placed mare by First Down Dash and a full sister to Champion and Grade 1 winner First To Flash ($494,835) and First To Shine ($141,622), winner of the New Mexico Derby Challenge (G3).
