BREAUX BRIDGE, LA–MARCH 10, 2026–Robicheaux Ranch stallions delivered a standout weekend across multiple states as their progeny qualified for several major futurity and derby finals during one of the first major trial weekends of the season.
Apollitical Blood, Gold Heart Eagle V, and Kvn Corona all sired top qualifiers, including multiple horses posting either the fastest or second-fastest times in their respective trials.
APOLLITICAL BLOOD
Champion sire Apollitical Blood led the way with seven qualifiers to major futurities and derbies in Louisiana and New Mexico.
Among them was RF Fast Dash N Blood, who continued his dominance Thursday at Louisiana Downs by posting the fastest qualifying time to the Mardi Gras Derby.
Ridden by Jorge Javier Garcia, the gelding broke sharply and led every step of the way to win the opening trial by two lengths in :19.803 for 400 yards, earning a 102 speed index.
RF Fast Dash N Blood improved his record to 11-9-1-0 with earnings of $1,181,189. The Louisiana-bred standout has now won nine consecutive races, including victories in the LQHBA Louisiana Million Futurity (G1), LQHBA Sale Futurity (G1), Lee Berwick Memorial Louisiana Bred Futurity (G1), and the Louisiana Bred Laddie Futurity (G2).
Bred by Rogers Farm (Tim and Jennie Rogers), the $80,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate is out of the Heza Fast Dash mare Fast Dash N Deb.
Additional qualifiers sired by Apollitical Blood included Tuxedo Black (Mardi Gras Derby), Six Streakin Blood and All Politics Astride (Mardi Gras Oaks), JC Canelo (Louisiana Downs Futurity-G2), and Purple N Gold Blood (Mardi Gras Futurity-RG2). Naughty Politics also qualified to the West Texas Maturity-G3 at Sunland Park.
Apollitical Blood led his sire class in progeny earnings during both his second- and third-crop seasons and has remained among the general leading sires since 2020.
Now with six crops to race, Apollitical Blood has sired 83 black-type horses with more than $19 million in progeny earnings and an average of $42,500 per starter. His 2026 fee is $10,000.
GOLD HEART EAGLE V
Gold Heart Eagle V added another strong weekend with five qualifiers in two states, including the second-fastest qualifiers to both the Mardi Gras Futurity and Mardi Gras Derby.
Awesome Eagle V recorded the second-fastest qualifying time to the Mardi Gras Futurity after winning his trial in :15.317 while earning a 102 speed index.
The colt is a homebred for owner-breeder Oscar Edel Moreno, trained by Jose U. Lopez and ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez. He is out of Oh Shez Awesome, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner One Cool Corona ($234,629).
Last Eagle V posted the second-fastest time to the Mardi Gras Derby after winning his trial in :19.804 with a 102 speed index. Ridden by Yaidel Rodriguez, the gelding drew clear to win by 2 1/4 lengths.
Owned by Leobersi Perez and trained by Eduardo L. Morales, the $16,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate was bred by Brian L. Gunder. Out of the First Down Dash mare Ifuaintfirstulast, Last Eagle V now holds a record of 6-3-2-0 and was last year’s Mardi Gras Futurity (G2) winner.
Additional qualifiers sired by Gold Heart Eagle V included Smokeshow V (Mardi Gras Oaks), Sharpest Image (Mardi Gras Futurity-RG2), and Lethal Eagle V (AQRA Presidents Open Spring Derby at Turf Paradise).
Sharpest Image secured the third-fastest qualifying time on the second night the Mardi Gras Futurity-RG2 trials after stopping the clock in :15.568.
Owned by Vicente Arreola and trained by Victor Oviedo, the colt was bred by Robicheaux Ranch Inc. He is out of the stakes-placed Game Patriot mare Non Stop Patriot.
From his first two crops to race, Gold Heart Eagle V has quickly established himself as a rising sire. His progeny have earned nearly $3 million with 15 black-type horses and an average of $23,400 per starter. His 2026 fee is $4,500.
KVN CORONA
Kvn Corona was represented by Beuteeful, who posted the fastest qualifying time to the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Oaks on Saturday at Los Alamitos.
Ridden by Rodrigo Sigala Vallejo for trainer Kristen Watanabe, Beuteeful recovered from a slightly awkward start before surging to the lead and holding off the late rally of Shiny New to win by a neck in :19.787 for 400 yards.
The filly now has six wins from eight career starts at Los Alamitos.
Bred in Utah by McColee Land & Livestock, the filly is out of the Budder Think Twice mare Budder Think Twice. She previously captured the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity and also qualified to both the Grade 1 Golden State Million Futurity and the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity.
With earnings of $313,262, she will enter the $415,500 Los Alamitos Oaks final on March 28 as the fastest qualifier.
Kvn Corona has sired more than $8.6 million in progeny earnings with 48 black-type horses and an average of $25,200 per starter. His 2026 fee is $5,000.
TEMPTING DASH
Tempting Dash, who is offered through the ICSI program at Robicheaux Ranch, didn’t have a qualifier this past weekend by is was represented for 2026 by Poppin Off, a qualifier to the Louisiana Downs Maiden Classic on February 21.
Tempting Dash is a multiple champion sire with more than $23.3 million in progeny earnings, 108 black-type horses, and an average of $31,500 per starter. His 2026 fee is $5,000.
VISA
Also standing at Robicheaux Ranch is stakes winner Visa ($452,414), whose first foals will arrive in 2026. Visa was runner-up in both the All American Derby (G1) and Rainbow Derby (G1) before entering stud. His 2026 fee is $4,000.
