HOLLISTER, CA–MAY 17, 2026–Call Me Cole sired his first stakes winner when Call Me Candela won the Grade 2, $254,500 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity at Los Alamitos Race Course.
A homebred for owner-breeder Miguel Osorio, Call Me Candela was ridden to victory by 20-year-old jockey Jose Rosario Alcala. Conditioned by trainer Jose Flores, the filly out of the Favorite Cartel mare DF First Down Cartel earned $107,455 for the victory.
The winner of two of three starts this season, Call Me Cole, completed the 300 yards in 15.706 seconds. She is expected to make her next start in the upcoming Ed Burke Million Futurity(G1) trials, also at Los Alamitos.

At the track, Call Me Cole won or placed in eight of 15 career starts and earned $298,122. He was third in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity(G1) and a finalist in the Golden State Million Futurity (G1), Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1), Kaweah Bar H.(G3), and Z Wayne Griffin Directors Invitational - Div 2.
Call Me Cole is a son of the leading sire and "sire of sires" Corona Cartel SI 97 ($557,142), the sire of 229 black type, 10 champions, and earners of over $77 million.
Corona Cartel’s top performers include Blues Girl Too SI 105 (World Champion Racing American QH, $2,032,328, Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity-G1), Teller Cartel SI 108 (champion, $1,212,471, All American Quarter Horse Futurity-G1), Five Bar Cartel SI 91 (champion, $1,068,825, Ed Burke Million Futurity-G1), Kvn Corona SI 95 (champion twice, $868,077, Ed Burke Million Futurity-G1).
Call Me Cole's dam is the track-record-setting Grade 1 winner Little Surfer SI 104 ($102,749), by First Down Dash. She is a sister to 13 black type horses, including world champion Wave Carver SI 104, and champion Ocean Runaway SI 105.
Little Surfer is the dam of 21 winners, 5 black type, 28 ROM, including Champion runner and leading third year sire Uncle D SI 96 ($689,165).
His second dam, Grade 2-placed Runaway Wave SI 105 ($79,183) by Runaway Winner, is a former Broodmare of the Year. She is a half-sister to four black type, including Harbor Beach SI 111 ($129,371) and First Down N Surfin SI 97 ($290,681).
Runaway Wave is the dam of 30 winners, 31 ROM, 13 black type, 2 champions, including 3-time AQHA Racing Champion and champion sire Ocean Runaway SI 105 ($1,642,498), AQHA Racing world champion and champion sire Wave Carver SI 104 ($1,005,946).
