GAINESVILLE, TX–MAY 24, 2026–Texas stallion Buzzinga continues to build momentum with two homebred qualifiers headed to closing weekend stakes at Sam Houston Race Park.

Buzzinga, who is owned by Shane and Brooke Snow and standing at Snow Ranch in Texas, sired two stakes qualifiers Thursday night at Sam Houston Race Park. Atlas Rise earned a berth to the Grade 3 Sam Houston Derby and Carpe Diem Baby secured her place in the Sam Houston Oaks. Both finals will be contested on closing weekend June 13.

“I was there watching the trials at Sam Houston,” said Shane Snow. “Brooke and I own both horses. In all of Buzzinga’s limited crops, I think he has only bred four outside mares…ever.”

Atlas Rise earned his first opportunity in stakes company after qualifying to the $234,050 Sam Houston Derby-G3. The gelding stopped the clock with a 102 speed index under jockey Victor Urieta, Jr.

Bred and owned by Shane and Brooke Snow, Atlas Rise is a Texas homebred trained by Janessa Muniz. The three-year-old gelding is out of Panthersprowlforcash by Panther Mountain. He is a brother to Lil Kool Panther, sired by Lil Kool Wagon, who won the West Texas Futurity ealier this year.

The gelding was a $6,000 repurchase at the TQHA Yearling Sale and broke his maiden earlier this season at Louisiana Downs in his first start of 2026. He now owns a record of 1-2-3 from 12 starts with $13,645 in earnings.

Another Snow Ranch homebred, Carpe Diem Baby, qualified back to the $176,250 Sam Houston Oaks after finishing second in her trial heat Thursday night.

The three-year-old filly is also trained by Janessa Muniz and was ridden by Raul Padilla Hernandez. She recently broke her maiden this season and now has a record of 1-3-1 from 10 starts with earnings of $16,579.

Carpe Diem Baby was a $9,000 repurchase at the TQHA Yearling Sale and is out of the Separatist Baby mare Baby Separatista.

Buzzinga is now represented by two black-type starters from only 12 starters in his third crop. Seven of those runners are winners.

“We have bred and raced almost all of them ourselves,” Snow said. “We’ve had to build his program from the ground up, without much help from outside breeders.”

"Janessa Muniz and her team put their heart and soul into our horses and it shows! We really appreciate the care they provide for our horses," said Snow.

"It’s been fun proving that Buzzinga has what it takes to sire stakes runners,” he continued.

Buzzinga is a graded stakes-placed son of leading sire Jet Black Patriot. He is out of the multiple black-type producer Reckless Fast Dash by Heza Fast Dash. Buzzinga is a full brother to stakes winner Blessher Sweet Heart and earned $104,721 on the racetrack.

His 2026 breeding fee is $1,500, which includes chute fees and first shipment. His 2027 fee will be raise to $3,000. Mare owners are responsible for additional shipping fees and board.

Buzzinga is eligible for Texas Accredited, Ruby Buckle, Future Fortunes, Speedhorse, TQHA Stallion Auction, and the TQHA Barrel Program.
