VINTON, LA—OCTOBER 10, 2011—Grade 1 winner First Down Mr Jess will stand the 2012 season at Delta Equine Center near Vinton, Louisiana. His fee will remain $1,500.
Owned by Joe M. Flores, the grade 1 son of leading sire Feature Mr Jess bred 93 mares his first season. Those foals will be yearlings of 2012.
Raced by Chrissema Horses, LLC, First Down Mr Jess won four of five starts as a two-year-old including the Sam Houston Futurity(G1). His only loss as a 2-year-old came in the $1.1 million Texas Classic Futurity(G1). An earner of $180,612, he was also a finalist in the Sam Houston Derby(G2).
The 5-year-old stallion is out of a winning First Down Dash mare who is a sister to grade 1 winner Valors Gold ($319,114), grade 3 winner and 2009 leading first crop sire Brookstone Bay ($184,770) and grade 2 placed Remarkably Ritzy ($200,138). His second dam is the grade 2 placed and multiple stakes producing Le Ritz ($63,678), a daughter of champion 2-year-old filly Sixy Chick ($751,283).
Early bookings can breed for $800 if the fee is paid in full by January 15, 2012. For additional information or breeding contracts call Jason Thomas, Farm Manager, at 337-589-3078.
