SEGUIN, TX—MAY 17, 2012—Haddad Ranch announced today their Grade 2 winner The Louisiana Cartel is booked full for his first year at stud.

According to ranch owner Jorge Haddad, the son of leading sire Corona Cartel bred more than 140 mares including Las Alamitos, dam of Grade 1 winner Ragazzo ($559,500) and Grade 2 winner Giorgino ($293,278); La Jolla Rocket, dam of 2012 West Texas Futurity(G1) winner and Heritage Place Futurity(G1) finalist El Duero ($107,123 at 2, 2012); Shake N Shoot, dam of Grade 1 winner Frankie Shoots ($331,328); a full sister to two-time champion FDD Dynasty ($1,173,001); a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Fighter On Fire ($682,788); a full sister to Grade1 winner First Down Illusion ($500,547) and a half-sister to 2012 Grade 1 winner A Toss Up ($272,572 to 3, 2012), etc.

The Louisiana Cartel won or placed in 8 of 10 career starts, earning $127,941. His wins included the Sam Houston Championship Challenge(G2) and Sam Houston Classic Handicap(G2). He was also third in the Firecracker Derby and a finalist in the Remington Park Invitational Championship(G1) and Delta Championship Challenge(G3).
