WASHINGTON, OK—AUGUST 25, 2014—Im A Fancy Pyc SI 92, the leading money earner by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, has been retired and will stand the 2015 season at Dr. Joe Carter's Oklahoma Equine Reproductive Center in Washington, Oklahoma. His fee has been set at $3,000, with consideration to approved mares.
Owned by Dustin Cox of Duncan, Oklahoma, Im A Fancy Pyc won his fifth race, in six starts, while setting the third fastest time for the $2.6 million All American Futurity, however he suffered a career ending injury following the race.
"Fancy's injury is relatively minor and his recovery will be rapid. So it's a tribute to Dustin Cox and his love for this horse to not take any chances with him. We have certainly seen other owners in the past not use the same judgement when a $2 million purse was available to them," Dr. Carter said.
The 2-year-old won his first four starts at Remington Park last Spring including the $861,000 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity(RG3). His only loss came in the $1 million Heritage Place Futurity(G1) when he was severely bumped at the break. After picking up the $52,000 check for qualifying to the All American Futurity(G1), Im A Fancy Pyc will have earned $454,765.
