Challenge Stakes Doubleheader Set for Sunday at Prairie Meadows

ALTOONA, IA–AUGUST 14, 2024–Two Bank of America Racing Challenge stakes topped by the 440-yard, $59,466 Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge (G2) will be contested Sunday at Prairie Meadows Racetrack.

Bradbury Racing's Nothin Like You, a homebred 5-year-old Favorite Cartel gelding trained by John Hammes, headlines the Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge. Nothin Like You will be stretching out in distance off of his nose victory in the July 7, 350-yard Keokuk Stakes (G3) at Prairie Meadows.

Nothin Like You has won 11 of his 23 races -- including nine of 14 at Prairie Meadows -- and he has earned $446,761. The Colorado-bred gelding drew post 4 and will be ridden by Stormy Smith.

Other contenders include Paul Wolfe's One Fabulous Boy. A homebred 5-year-old son of One Fabulous Eagle trained by Ed Hardy, the bay gelding will be making his first start since May 11, when he scored a neck victory in a 440-yard, $25,000 allowance race at Remington Park. However, One Fabulous Boy has won three of his six outs at Prairie Meadows, including last year's Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge.

One Fabulous Boy drew post 8 and will be ridden by Angel O. Ramirez.

Also on Sunday, multiple graded stakes winner Lynnder 16 leads a group of six fillies and mares entered in the 400-yard, $33,940 Cox Ranch Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge (G3).

An 8-year-old daughter of world champion Apollitical Jess trained by Jason Olmstead for owners Tom Maher and Richard Tobin, Lynnder 16 will making the second start of her '24 season. Last year, the mare banked $42,070 from four outs and won two stakes, including the $39,000 Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge.

Lynnder 16 drew post 2 and will be ridden by Ramiro H. Garcia.
